About Edufinder
EDUfinder attempts to remove the hassle of finding the address of a location, specifically for educational institutions. If you can recall at least the name of the school you need to travel to you can find the directions here. Hopefully it can help you.
Let’s be realistic, this is not the next greatest web app. However, it will remain useful until Google provides a dropdown suggestion list based on your ip addresses geo location.
At the moment we are currently serving only the state of Maryland and specifically the counties of Frederick, Montgomery, and Prince George’s.

Technologies Used
Google Maps API
The Google Maps API was used to find, retrieve, and display the directions and map. You can find documentation and examples of the google maps at the Google Maps API homepage.
The JQuery JavaScript Library
JQuery is a JavaScript library that will improve your programming life immensely. I used it for the autocompletion suggestion list. It is a lightweight library that includes DOM control, animation, and many other useful tools. If this is something you are interested in I suggest you buy Learning JQuery by Karl Swedberg and Jonathan Chaffer. In fact, the autocompletion used on this site is simply a modification of the one mentioned and discussed in this book.
Wordpress
Wordpress is used as the publishing forum. Wordpress is an awesome open-source blog/publishing/CMS tool. Despite this sites content being minimal it is very helpful in quickly creating and editing the content of the site.

Is this concept open source?
Well, yes. But I’m just not there yet. Give me some time and I will share the source files and explain how to install them.
